International Summer Retreat with Acem's Founder

Course starts
Saturday 5. July 2025, kl 18:00
Course ends
Saturday 12. July 2025, kl 14:00

One week’s refreshing summer retreat in the Scandinavian landscapes where Acem Meditation originated. An opportunity for exciting encounters and social meetings across borders and cultures, with participants from Scandinavia, Europe, and other continents. You can choose between guidance groups in English or German.

You can check in from 15:00 and meditate in your own room.

This will be the summer’s main meeting point for Acem meditators from around the world.

Seminars by Acem’s founder

The retreat includes interactive seminars with Acem’s founder Dr. Are Holen, based on questions from participants. Dr. Holen is a highly respected lecturer and meditation guide, known for his ability to speak directly to the needs of the audience. He is the main driving force behind the development of Acem’s unique psychology of meditation. His seminars will resolve challenges from the long meditations and discuss the experience from meditative, psychological, and existential angles. All seminars will be in English, with simultaneous translation into German. By training, Dr. Holen is both a physician and psychologist. An internationally renowned stress researcher, he is professor emeritus at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Abundant time for the meditation process

The retreat provides ample opportunity for social contact and for training in meditations up to or above the three-hour level. The result is deeper relaxation, increased contact with life themes, and processing of issues from the past. In addition, the programme includes:

  • inspiring seminars on the psychology of meditation with Dr. Are Holen
  • guidance groups that resolve challenges from the meditation
  • instructions in meditative yoga, which makes body and mind more receptive
  • walks in beautiful nature and swimming in the majestic Lake Mangen
  • social activities and togetherness in an exciting international setting

This is a great opportunity to update your meditation practice, strengthen your meditation habit, and thoroughly recharge your batteries. After the retreat, the effect of daily meditations will increase. The effect of a summer retreat is said to linger on for the rest of the year.

Lundsholm

Acem’s retreat center in Sweden, Lundsholm, is situated by Lake Mangen, half-an-hours trip from Arvika in Värmland. It has a calm environment, well suited for yoga, meditations and recreation. Lundsholm is surrounded by forests and small country roads. You can swim in the lake. Participants are mainly accommodated in single bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (late registrations are accommodated in rooms with shared bath).

Lactovegetarian meals

Lundsholm serves delicious lactovegetarian food – good for palate and belly, and great for meditating bodies and minds.
